The Spanish goalkeeper has been a free agent since leaving Manchester United.
De Gea left Old Trafford after failing to agree a new deal with the Red Devils before his contract expired at the end of June.He has so far been unable to find a new club and is now considering retirement, according to The Guardian.
The 32-year-old has turned down a number of approaches in recent months, including from Saudi Arabia.
De Gea is understood to not be motivated by money and would instead prefer to be the first choice keeper at a top club.
