Aryna Sabalenka underlined why she had long been considered the Australian Open favourite by overpowering Zheng Qinwen to retain the women's title.
บาคาร่าคืนค่าคอม
Belarusian second seed Sabalenka won 6-3 6-2 to claim her second Grand Slam singles trophy without dropping a set.

With 12th seed Zheng backed by fanatical Chinese support, a composed Sabalenka sucked the energy out of her opponent and the crowd in a fast start.

She is the first woman to win back-to-back since Victoria Azarenka in 2013.

Sabalenka, 25, who became the strong favourite after top seed Iga Swiatek was beaten in the third round, emulated her compatriot Azarenka with a victory that took little over an hour.

Zheng, 21, was playing in her first major final and often looked overawed - by both the occasion and her opponent.

General Community / Kashmir's rare snowless winter sets off alarm bells
« เมื่อ: 19/01/24, 16:20:41 »
In his 17 years of managing a hotel in Gulmarg, a picturesque town in Indian-administered Kashmir, Manzoor Ahmad has never seen a season without snow.
MG live

But this year, things are different: the snow-clad mountains in the region are oddly brown and barren.

"This is unprecedented," Mr Ahmad, 50, says, and adds that tourists have stopped making reservations at his hotel.

Every year, thousands of tourists visit Kashmir in winter to enjoy skiing and sightseeing. But the absence of snowfall this year has bought the region's tourism industry to its knees.

Close to 100,000 tourists visited Kashmir last January, but this year that number has reduced by more than half, officials say.

Experts say the snowless winter will have a disastrous impact on the territory's economy as the tourism sector accounts for about 7% of Jammu and Kashmir's GDP. It will also impact farming and water supply as scanty snowfall will not replenish groundwater reserves adequately.

Environmentalists say that climate change has been impacting the region, causing extreme weather events and prolonged dry spells in both winter and summer. Jammu and Kashmir's weather department recorded a 79% rainfall deficit in December and a 100% deficit in January.

The valley is also experiencing warmer weather, with most stations in Kashmir recording a 6-8C (43-48F) rise in temperature this winter.

China has warned voters in Taiwan to make the "right choice", two days before presidential elections on the self-ruled island which Beijing claims.
casino world
A win for the ruling party candidate William Lai would pose a danger to relations, China said.

It also criticised "brazen chattering" by the US after Washington warned Beijing not to stoke tensions ahead of Saturday's vote.

Who wins the poll could push the island further towards, or away from, Beijing.

Taiwan is a key flashpoint in the tussle between China and the US for supremacy in Asia.

China's Taiwan Affairs office said Mr Lai would further promote separatist activities if he were elected.

"[He] would continue to follow the evil path of provoking 'independence' and... take Taiwan ever further away from peace and prosperity, and ever closer to war and decline," it said in a statement.

Mr Lai, of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has called for voters to "choose the right path" to maintain Taiwan's sovereignty. His main opponent, Hou Yu-ih of the Kuomintang (KMT), has called Mr Lai a danger to relations with China.

Manchester United are trying to finalise the terms of Jadon Sancho's loan move back to Borussia Dortmund.

BBC Sport understands an agreement has been reached between the two clubs that would allow Sancho to re-join his old club for the rest of the season.

However, there are contractual and financial issues around the deal that still require tidying up.

The 23-year-old winger completed a £73m move to Old Trafford from Dortmund in July 2021.

However, he has not played for United since 26 August after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag and has been training away from the first team since September.

Ten Hag had 'very positive' talks with Ratcliffe
The relationship between Sancho and Ten Hag hit the rocks after the England international was omitted from the squad for September's defeat at Arsenal, with the Dutchman stating it was due to his performance in training.

Sancho rejected those claims and said on social media that he was being made a "scapegoat" and later refused to apologise for his comments, leading to his exile.

Since joining United, Sancho has struggled for consistent form - he has scored nine league goals and provided just six assists in his 58 appearances.

Dortmund, who sit fifth in the Bundesliga, are keen for Sancho to join them on their current mid-season training camp in Marbella.

The club will play friendly fixtures against AZ Alkmaar on 6 January and Standard Liege on 9 January before returning to Germany and resuming their league campaign at Darmstadt on 13 January.

The gunman who killed 14 people at a university in Prague confessed to an earlier double murder in his suicide note, Czech police have said.

The note found in David Kozak's home contained a confession he had shot dead a man and his baby daughter in woods near the city on 15 December, six days before the Charles University attack.

Police said he had been on a list of 4,000 suspects for their murders.

Kozak also killed his father, bringing the total number of his victims to 17.

The attack at the university on 21 December is the worst mass shooting in Czech history.

Kozak, a 24-year-old masters history student at the university, killed himself after being surrounded by armed police.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says it is important to "look after fans" as his club rejected involvement in the revised European Super League proposal.
Ufa Casino
Arsenal were one of 12 clubs who joined the original ESL plan in 2021.

On Thursday the European Court of Justice said banning clubs from joining the ESL was unlawful and a revamped league was proposed hours later.

"Football supporters and the passion they bring to games is the reason this game belongs to them," said Arteta.

"Their opinion is very important and we have to look after them," he added.

In 2021, 12 teams signed up to the breakaway ESL designed to rival Uefa competitions, but the project was widely condemned by fans, supporter groups, European domestic leagues and even governments, leading to the collapse of the proposal within 72 hours.

Of the 12 clubs only Real Madrid and Barcelona have retained their interest in a breakaway league - proposed by A22 - with the rest backing down.

On Friday, the Gunners joined Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Manchester United in announcing their "position has not changed" on the ESL and confirming their commitment to Uefa competitions.

Their statement added to numerous issued across the continent from European heavyweights and domestic football leagues.

"We remain in the same position and we love playing in the Champions League and will continue to do so," said Arteta.

"The conversations [with the owners] that we had were very clear after what happened two years ago. I think the club has issued a statement that is very clear and transparent. We'll stick to that."

The new proposal is for a league system that would include 64 men's and 32 women's teams, with annual promotion and relegation.

General Community / Kazakhstan mine fire leaves at least 32 dead
« เมื่อ: 29/10/23, 04:12:01 »
At least 32 people have been killed following a fire at a mine in Kazakhstan, owned by steel giant ArcelorMittal. เว็บแทงบอลออนไลน์

The blaze came on the same day as a deal to nationalise the company's mining operations in Kazakhstan was confirmed.

A further 14 of the 252 people who were working at the Kostenko mine are missing.

So far, 18 people have received medical treatment.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had ordered investment in the country's biggest steel mill to be halted prior to the blaze as he pushed for nationalisation.

He expressed his condolences to the families of the bereaved, calling the incident a "tragedy" and describing ArcelorMittal Termitau, the local unit of the company, as "the worst" in Kazakhstan's history "from the point of view of cooperation with the government and the enterprise".

"Now we will think of taking a decision in regards to the enterprise itself," he told Reuters.

ArcelorMittal said it would cooperate with authorities and promised compensation, according to AFP news agency.

It added that the first stage of the nationalising process is underway and it "will commit to finalising this transaction as soon as possible".

The regional health department said 15 of those who have been hospitalised are being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to his Kazakh ally.

"Please convey words of sympathy and support to the families of the killed miners," he said in a statement.

"We hope the miners that are underground will be saved."

This is second fatal incident in the last two months at a site operated by ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan. In August, four miners were killed after a fire broke out at the Karaganda mine.

And in November 2022, five people died and four others were hospitalised after a methane gas leak at a mine in the same area.

ArcelorMittal Temirtau owns 15 coal and ore mines in Kazakhstan.

In 2022, ArcelorMittal, a Luxembourg-based steel giant, bought Aberdeen metal recycling business John Lawrie Metals.

The company sponsored the construction of of the ArcelorMittal Orbit that stands in London's Olympic park.

Ilkay Gundogan's first Barca goal had put the hosts ahead after six minutes. แทงบอล ufabet

But Bellingham smashed a sensational leveller in the 68th minute, finding the top corner from 30 yards out.

The England midfielder then netted an injury-time volley to continue his fairytale start to his Real career.

Bellingham, 20, now has 14 goals in 16 matches for club and country this season.

Los Blancos' win meant they moved above Girona on goal difference at the top of La Liga, and four points clear of third-placed Barcelona.

Bellingham proving his worth yet again
Once again, Bellingham was Real Madrid's talisman and goal hero.

The former Birmingham City midfielder arrived from Borussia Dortmund for 103m euros (£88.5m) this summer - and has proved his worth with crucial contributions.

Bellingham has scored 13 goals in 13 appearances for the club with three assists, only failing to find the net in three matches.

But Real and Bellingham had started slowly, as a lapse in concentration saw Gundogan pick up a loose ball in the box before sliding a calm finish for the opener.

Barcelona almost grabbed a second straight after the restart when defender Inigo Martinez headed against the post and Real Madrid keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga kept out Ronald Araujo's effort from the rebound.

Fermin Lopez also fired against the post as Xavi's side posed the greater attacking threat.

But Real survived and equalised against the run of play when Bellingham collected the ball and drove an effort beyond Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

And in the closing stages the visitors were a level above in pursuit of the winner.

It came when Dani Carvajal swung in a hopeful cross that was flicked on by Luka Modric and met by the onrushing Bellingham, who hooked in to decide a thrilling encounter.

Saturday's 189th La Liga Clasico comes with both Real Madrid and Barcelona way off their best form and, for the time being, papering over the cracks as they prepare for the first of this season's tussles for Spanish football's bragging rights. แทงบอลออนไลน์

Historically, victory in El Clasico frequently rubber-stamped one club or another's supremacy as they strolled to a title triumph.

These days, Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid would beg to differ although it is still beyond doubt one of the most-watched games in the world.

Real may top the table, with Barca just one point behind, but all is not well at either club and here is why.
Rodrygo's goal against Braga in the Champions League on Tuesday was the Brazilian's first since he scored in the season opener. He has the dubious distinction of being the player with the poorest return for shots on goal in any of the five major European leagues.

Astonishingly, the problems have been masked by the stellar start that Jude Bellingham is enjoying to his career at Real - with another goal on Tuesday in Portugal his 11th in 12 games.

Real Madrid is the sort of place where reputations count for nothing and you have to prove yourself from the get-go.

Just four months since putting pen to paper, he is already being touted as the leader of the side with comparisons being made between him and Zinedine Zidane.

There is total admiration for his ability, personality and application and the way he has settled seamlessly into the Spanish way of life.

That is the good news for Real. The not so good is that he picked up a knock in the win in Braga and has been a doubt for the game on Saturday, although he did return to training on Friday and is expected to feature.

Brazil forward Vinicius Jr is slowly going back to his best form and still produces moments of quality, but without the goals from Bellingham, this Real Madrid would be in a very different place.

General Community / Striking actors given strict Halloween costume rules
« เมื่อ: 20/10/23, 19:36:52 »
Every Halloween, celebrities love to show off their elaborate costumes, often based on hit TV shows and films.

But this year, things will look a little different after actors were warned that dressing as characters from major shows and movies would break the rules of the ongoing Hollywood strike.
เว็บแทงบอลยูฟ่าเบท
So outfits based on Barbie, Wednesday Addams and film superheroes are banned.

Wearing such costumes would promote content made by the studios the actors are in dispute with, their union said.

"Choose costumes inspired by generalised characters and figures (ghost, zombie, spider etc)," Sag-Aftra advised its members.

Or actors could dress as characters from content that does not fall under the strike rules, "like an animated TV show", the union suggested.

"Let's use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our struck employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract!"

A New Zealand landlord who was locked in a dispute with the Chinese embassy over rubbish disposal has lost a NZ$960 ($559;£462) claim.
ทางเข้าสมัครแทงบอลออนไลน์
Chandler Investments Limited claimed the embassy left a rented Wellington mews house without covering cleaning and other costs.

A tenancy tribunal dismissed the claim, saying the embassy was protected by sovereign immunity.

This means a government cannot be sued in another country without its consent.

Chandler Investments Ltd had sought payment for "cleaning, rubbish removal and key cutting", claiming this amounted to some NZ960 ($559;£462).

But in tribunal records seen by the BBC, adjudicator Rex Woodhouse concluded that the tribunal did not have jurisdiction over the case and dismissed it.

Representatives from New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) were present at the tribunal hearing, but neither party to the claim attended. While Mr Woodhouse was able to contact a person from the Chinese embassy, "she knew nothing about this application", he wrote in his judgement.

The applicant for the tenancy was recorded as "Embassy of the People's Republic of China", and compensation was first sought last May at the end of the tenancy.

MFAT noted that there were commercial exceptions to immunity but the adjudicator said he was "not persuaded that the rental of a residential dwelling to an embassy would be commercial in nature".

"It was definitely a quirk we didn't see coming," owner Chris Chandler told local media, adding that he thought the amount would have been "immaterial" for the embassy.

"No more diplomats, and according to our property manager, that's the advice he gives to others in the same area as well," Mr Chandler said.

This is not the first time that a landlord in New Zealand has found found themselves caught out in a tenancy dispute with an embassy.

In 2018, a claim was made against deputy chief of mission for the European Union Eva Tvarozkova, over $11,700 (NZ$20,000) in unpaid rent and incidentals at a Wellington property.

While the tribunal initially ruled that the landlord was entitled to the money, MFAT later advised that Ms Tvarozkova had diplomatic immunity - protecting her from prosecution - and asked for another hearing.

The message has been short and simple all week. Wales are not ready to go home.
เว็บพนันบอลออนไลน์ชั้นนำ
When the Wales football team marched to the Euro 2016 semi-finals in France, the terrace anthem of "Don't take me home" became synonymous with that stunning summer of Welsh sport.

Seven years on, the mantra is the same for the country's rugby stars as they aim to book their own last-four place in a major tournament by beating Argentina.

So the 2023 World Cup odyssey will today take Warren Gatland's side to France's oldest and second largest city as a festival of quarter-final rugby descends on Marseille.

While the Stade de France in Paris will host Ireland and New Zealand and France and South Africa, all Welsh eyes will be further south on the Mediterranean port city as Gatland's charges take on the Pumas before England tackle Fiji 24 hours later.

Wales fans have a fifth city to visit after already travelling to watch their side win in Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon and Nantes, with supporters from four nations flooding into the famous Le Vieux-Port.

The football fans never made it to Marseille in 2016 while the rugby supporters missed out on the opportunity to follow Wales in 2007 when Gareth Jenkins' side were knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages by Fiji. They plan to make the most of it this weekend.

General Community / US moves warships closer to Israel after Hamas attack
« เมื่อ: 9/10/23, 23:24:20 »
The US says it is moving an aircraft carrier, ships and jets to the eastern Mediterranean and will also give Israel additional equipment and ammunition.
แทงบอลยูฟ่าเบท

It follows the Hamas attack on southern Israel, which President Biden called an "unprecedented and appalling assault".

A US National Security spokesperson said several US citizens were among the dead.

Israel says more than 700 people have been killed and 100 kidnapped.

In Gaza, more than 400 people have been killed following retaliatory Israeli air strikes, according to Palestinian officials.

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said the USS Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier, a missile cruiser and four missile destroyers were heading to the region. He said fighter jets would also be sent.

Further military aid to Israel would be sent in the coming days, the White House said, adding that the US was working to ensure Israel's enemies did not try to seek advantage from the situation.

The large deployment reflects American concerns that the conflict between Israel and Hamas could draw in other parts of the region.

In particular, the US is eager to prevent Lebanon's powerful Hezbollah movement from joining the conflict. It is backed by Iran, which also funds and arms Hamas.

Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi has expressed support for the Hamas attack, saying Israel needed to be held to account for endangering the region.

Hamas has said assistance from Iran helped it carry out its attack, which involved rockets, drones and militants on paragliders and saw hundreds of fighters break through Israeli border fortifications around the Gaza Strip.

The world is breaching a key warming threshold at a rate that has scientists concerned, a BBC analysis has found.
แทงบอลบนมือถือเว็บตรง
On about a third of days in 2023, the average global temperature was at least 1.5C higher than pre-industrial levels.

Staying below that marker long-term is widely considered crucial to avoid the most damaging impacts of climate change.

But 2023 is "on track" to be the hottest year on record, and 2024 could be hotter.

"It is a sign that we're reaching levels we haven't been before," says Dr Melissa Lazenby, from the University of Sussex.

This latest finding comes after record September temperatures and a summer of extreme weather events across much of the world.

Climate change played major role in Libya floods

UN calls for radical changes to slow warming
When political leaders gathered in Paris in December 2015, they signed an agreement to keep the long-term rise in global temperatures this century "well below" 2C and to make every effort to keep it under 1.5C.

The agreed limits refer to the difference between global average temperatures now and what they were in the pre-industrial period, between 1850 and 1900 - before the widespread use of fossil fuels.

Breaching these Paris thresholds doesn't mean going over them for a day or a week but instead involves going beyond this limit across a 20 or 30-year average.

This long-term average warming figure currently sits at around 1.1C to 1.2C.

But the more often 1.5C is breached for individual days, the closer the world gets to breaching this mark in the longer term.

General Community / Russia's new tactic for cutting off Ukraine's grain
« เมื่อ: 29/07/23, 13:01:28 »
Since it started in August 2022, almost 33 million tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs have been exported via the Black Sea grain deal.
ทางเข้าเว็บแทงบอลอันดับ1
But with Ukraine's Black Sea ports now effectively blockaded by Russia, experts say it will have to rely heavily on its ports along the Danube river to export grain into neighbouring Romania.

From there it can be transported further afield as Romania's ports remain open.

After repeatedly targeting export hubs on the Black Sea, Russia has now turned its missiles and drones on ports on the Danube.

The general in charge of Ukraine's stuttering counter-offensive in the south has said Russian defences are making it difficult for military equipment, including Western tanks and armoured vehicles, to move forward.
แทงบอลเว็บไหนดี
Gen Oleksandr Tarnavskyi says his forces are struggling to overcome multi-layered minefields and fortified defensive lines.

"That is why most of the tasks have to be performed by troops."

He says Russia's military has displayed "professional qualities" by preventing Ukrainian forces from "advancing quickly".

"I don't underestimate the enemy," he adds.

Latest unconfirmed reports from the US suggest the main thrust of the counter-offensive has begun. The Institute for the Study of War says Ukrainian forces appear to have broken through "certain pre-prepared Russian defensive positions".

But so far there's little evidence that Western supplied tanks and armoured vehicles have been able to tip the balance decisively in Ukraine's favour.

Several Leopard tanks and US Bradley fighting vehicles were damaged or destroyed in the first days of the offensive, near the city of Orikhiv.

Ukraine's 47th Brigade, which had largely been trained and equipped by the West to try to break through Russian lines, were soon stopped in their tracks by mines and then targeted by artillery.

Russia released multiple videos of the incident claiming Ukraine's offensive had already failed. In reality it was an early setback rather than a decisive blow.

The England international also lifted the Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup during his time on Merseyside.

Henderson will link up again with ex-Liverpool captain and former team-mate Steven Gerrard, who is manager of Al-Ettifaq.

He flew out with the Liverpool squad to their training camp in Germany earlier in July, although he did not play in either of their pre-season matches after an initial offer of £12m was accepted.

The midfielder joined the Reds from Sunderland in a deal worth £20m in June 2011 and made 492 appearances for them, scoring 33 goals and registering 57 assists.

Speaking in the video filmed at Anfield, Henderson said that it was hard to leave his boyhood club more than a decade ago but "when Liverpool come knocking, you don't say no".

He added: "I can't lie, there have been hard times, really hard times. But when I look back at my career at Liverpool, it will always be the good times that I remember."

Amsterdam's council has banned cruise ships from the city centre as the Dutch capital tries to limit visitor numbers and curb pollution.
ทางเข้าแทงบอลยูฟ่าเบท
Politicians said the vessels were not in line with the city's sustainable ambitions.

It means the central cruise terminal on the River IJ near Amsterdam's main train station will close.

It is the latest measure to clamp down on mass tourism in the city.

The council has been trying to scrub up, banning cannabis smoking on the streets of the red-light district.

In March the council launched an online campaign urging young British men considering holding their bachelor parties in Amsterdam to stay away.

Cruise ships had become a symbol of the problem of over-tourism, and the motion to move them out of the centre passed by a large majority.

Amsterdam has become a victim of its own popularity, attracting 20 million annual visitors - some drawn by its party city reputation.

"Polluting cruise ships are not in line with the sustainable ambitions of our city," the centre-right party D66, which runs the city along with social democrats and environmentalists, said in a statement quoted by AFP news agency.

The passage of cruise ships, it said, was also not compatible with plans for new bridge between the city's historic southern district and the Noord district, the focus of recent development projects.

There was a deadline of 31 July for Mbappe, 24, to tell PSG if he was going to renew until 2025.
After months of talks, he has sent the club a letter saying he will not.

PSG's record goalscorer would be free to leave for nothing at the end of next season and the move could be a negotiating tactic.

However, as the French champions try to readjust their team-building policy after years of buying star players with no obvious coherent strategy, PSG have resolved not to let Mbappe go for nothing, with the club irritated that the letter was leaked in the media before they saw it.

It means that unless they get assurances about the 2018 World Cup winner's future intentions, they will sell him in a move that would put Europe's leading clubs on alert.

Real Madrid are long time admirers of the Frenchman and he rejected a move to the Bernabeu to stay at PSG last year.

In an exhibition of why the Australian pace attack will bring a supreme threat to England's swashbuckling batters in the Ashes, India were reduced to 71-4.

Captain Pat Cummins removed opposite number Rohit Sharma, before Scott Boland, Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc all produced sensational deliveries.

India clung on through Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane, only for Jadeja to edge the off-spin of Nathan Lyon to slip for 48.

India closed on 151-5, still 318 behind the Australians, who were bowled out for 469 in their first innings.

That represented something of a fightback for India, who took the last seven Australia wickets for 108 runs.

Travis Head was out for 163 and Steve Smith 121 as Mohammed Siraj led the revival with 4-108.

Then came the awesome display from the Australian bowlers that has put them well on course to be crowned world champions.
